Richard Tye is a UK researcher and co-author, with Andrew Berkeley and Neil Wilson, of An Accounting Model of the UK Exchequer (GIMMS, 2020/2021) and the successor paper How does the government spend? He contributed the chapter 'Credit and The Exchequer since the Restoration' to Modern Monetary Theory: Key Insights, Leading Thinkers (Edward Elgar, 2023) and has written on the historical English tally system.
