Achim Truger

Achim Truger is Professor of Socioeconomics at the University of Duisburg-Essen and, since 2019, a member of the German Council of Economic Experts (the 'five wise men' who advise the federal government). His research focuses on macroeconomic policy, fiscal rules and the design of public finance, drawing on a long association with the Hans Böckler Foundation and the Berlin School of Economics and Law.
